Marina in need of “so much more”
Written By Shelly
Published On January 24, 2011

Yesterday Marina spoke with WalesOnline about success. She said:

“I didn’t even listen to any music until I was about 19, really. I just wanted to be famous. But I didn’t say it to anyone because I was really embarrassed at the thought.”

She applied herself academically – by her own admittance in a “hardcore” fashion.

“With my GCSEs I was up at 2am everyday and I would study until 7am, go to school then come back and do some more,” Diamandis told a London Sunday newspaper.

When she was 16, Marina left the village of Pandy in Monmouthshire to live with her father in Athens, where she took the International Baccalaureate. (more…)

Katy Perry has recently announced on Facebook that she’ll be touring through North America in Summer. The multiple Grammy nominee took to “Facebook Live,” the official streaming channel for the social network site, at their Palo Alto headquarters to announce her upcoming “California Dreams 2011” world tour Wednesday afternoon.

For openers, Perry said she will be joined by Robyn as well as Marina and the Diamonds on select dates in the U.S., and Yelle and Calvin Harris will support her on the U.K. leg of the trek, which will draw on material from her hit-filled sophomore disc, “Teenage Dream.”

“It’s going to be super girl power. If you come to the tour, you’ll probably start menstruating,” she joked on the webcast. “It’s going to be amazing. I really believe in this tour.”

Check out the dates after the jump. (more…)
